MIDWEEK BIBLE STUDIES
ST. PAUL'S CHURCH,
The View from the Cockpit
Studies in the book of Revelation
An introduction, from information supplied:
Written towards the end of the first century, to Christians under intense persecution,
God's final written word is a message to Christians of all ages.
This strange book, recounting what seem to be dreamlike visions, has been called
"The most relevant book today.
The Biblical answer to contemporary lack of hope in the nuclear age."
We should neither, on the one hand, ignore it because we cannot understand it,
nor, on the other hand, should we use it to colour every other Christian doctrine.
John Stott called it "What Christ thinks of the church" and that is always relevant.
From "I know your deeds", to "Behold, I am coming soon." We need to listen.
Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
